Queensland Wind Orchestra

  • Old Museum Building 480 Gregory Tce Bowen Hills Australia (map)

The first concert of Season 2019 presents a preview of our entry into the Australian National Band Championships (Open A Concert Band). The first half of the concert will feature soloists and chamber ensembles made up of Queensland Wind Orchestra players, with the second half featuring the Queensland Wind Orchestra's entry of a march, ballad, set piece, and own choice.

  • GRAFULLA arr. REEVES – Washington Greys March

  • TICHELI – Amazing Grace

  • GRAHAM – Metropolis 1927

  • GIROUX – Bookmarks from Japan

The last time the Queensland Wind Orchestra entered the Yamaha Australian National Band Championships in 2014, the wind orchestra was named winner. We hope you'll join us on our first concert of the year to celebrate our soloists and chamber musicians, and hear the Queensland Wind Orchestra’s entry for the 2019 competition.

Tickets available now - including season passes and Inspire: giving children aged eight and older the opportunity to sit in with the wind orchestra during sound check next to an instrumentalist of their choice (pending seat availability) and receive a ticket to the concert.
