Murmurations - A Magical Night of Solo Electric Guitar and Song.

Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) has focused his intuitive composing and masterly guitar playing in this new work Murmurations. Jim Moginie’s contribution to Midnight Oil cannot be denied, as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter he wrote or contributed to all of the band’s iconic songs. Moginie’s many other projects include The Break, The Electric Guitar Orchestra, guitarist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, plus four solo works, including Murmurations. Written specifically for electric guitar and inspired by the massive gatherings of starlings that occur during winter that Jim witnessed in Ireland, Murmurations makes a hushed musical landscape for the mind to wander within: ambient, jazz tinged, orchestral. These solo shows are in two parts: the instrumental guitar ‘Murmurations’ section and the second, on piano, with songs from Jim’s extensive back catalogue and a revolving selection of covers. Following on from the success of the Sydney launch of Murmurations, three more national dates have been announced:
